Football field Lofoten

Among weather-beaten cliffs and the open sea north of the Arctic Circle lies Henningsvær Stadion , often referred to as the world's most beautiful football pitch . Since 1927, the enterprising inhabitants of Henningsvær have ensured that the sport lives on, even on the rocky islands where flat land is a rarity.

The track is spectacularly located on the south side of Hellandsøya , with bright green artificial turf surrounded by a narrow asphalt road that serves as both a parking lot and a grandstand . There is room for 500 spectators – more than there are people living in Henningsvær!
